Who was Joseph Kallinger?

Joseph Kallinger was an American serial killer who murdered 3 people, including his teenage son and tortured four families, between July 7, 1974 and January 8, 1975. Joseph committed the crimes together with of his 15 year old son, Michael.

The story of Joseph Kallinger is taken straight out of horror books and shoved into a courtroom. He went on a a killing spree, raping and torturing anyone that came into his way. Kallinger was arrested on January 17, 1975 and pleaded insanity, claiming that God had told him to kill, however, he was found sane and able to stand trial. Kallinger was sentenced to life and died in prison in 1996, having his last years in prison under suicide watch.

During his trial, he often struggled with courtroom officials and was bobbing his head pretending to be insane.  Psychiatriast Larry J. McClure testified that Kallinger was feigning insanity to receive a lighter sentence.
